Bach made by Matthias Havinga on the Martti Porthan organ(1998) in
Kotka, Finland.

Vacancy: the Concertzender is looking for a Busines Manager
The Concertzender offers a podium for exceptional music and
forms an essential
link between this music and a wider public.
The mission of the Concertzender is to
retain its existing position as the leading promotor
of such music in the Netheralnds,
as radiostation, recording producer and platform for Dutch music archives.
The Concertzender is looking for a part-time Business manager (24
hours per week) who together with the current general/creative director can
ensure that the Concertzender remains a success. The business manager
will translate the vision and strategy of the Concertzender into
market opportunities and seek the funding necessary to realise these
opportunities.

Acoustic Roots: Jonatan Alvarado live in the Kargadoor
On Wednesday 9th November we're making another radio
recording in the Kargadoor in Utrecht. Our guest is singer and baroque
guitarist Jonatan Alvarado.
Jonatan Alvarado is Argentinian. In the past
he's played in De Musyck Kamer,
an Early
Music Concertzender programme. We were
very impressed by his
singing and playing of
early Argentinian folk music and
immediately thought that Jonatan should be in Acoustic
Roots. It's
finally happened!
Early Music or World Music? The genre World
Music is the name of a broad musical landscape: folk music with its
roots in diverse cultures and times. Sometimes the
roots are so deep
and go so far back that musicologists have their doubts. Where is the
boundary between Early Music and early folk music?

The Soundcafé is home again
The Soundcafé
returns to VondelCS in Amsterdam on 20 November after a successful show in New York City. This time with ‘our’ famous
cellist Quirine Viersen who has found an opportunity in her diary to join our presenter Louis Gauthier.
Quirine Viersen updates us on her recent activities and her future
plans. The young talent this month is the saxophonist and composer
Peter Vigh. His composition En
we zoeken naar de waarheid for the recent Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam was a
great success.
So come an join us during the recording on Sunday 20 November!
Doors open at 15:30 and the show is recorded between 16:00 and 17:00.
And it is free as well!
This recording of The Soundcafé will be broadcast on Thursday 1 December from
