The Concertzender in September: our recordings of a summer of festivals and more Pocket Concerts
This time, we're more than living up to our name! It was a wonderful summer of festivals, during which we were able to make many recordings.
And in our own studio, we're also continuing with the Pocket Concerts: more are being added all the time. You can listen to all our recordings on our website, through the archive on Podium Online, or in the various broadcasts. Tip: Looking for the recording of the concert you attended? Use the search engine on our website.
As a listener you can also contribute to the upcoming anniversary broadcast of X-Rated.

In Memoriam Three Great Jazz Vocalists
Three remarkable vocalists passed away within a short period: Cleo Laine, Nancy King on August 5th, and finally, Sheila Jordan on August 11th. In our Vocal Jazz program, we feature these exceptional singers.
Cleo Laine (1927-2025) didn't truly pursue music until she was 24. Throughout a prolific career, both with her husband Johnny Dankworth's band and as a soloist, she continued to sing with her remarkable voice (a contalto) well into her later years.
Nancy King (1940-2025) was a true musician's singer for a long time. Her unique character earned her a large, authentic jazz audience. A highly original and creative jazz vocalist who could improvise like an instrumentalist.
Sheila Jordan (Dawson) (1928-2025) continued to sing and share her knowledge in workshops and jazz clinics until the end of her life. She was a master of various styles, but her musical roots lie in the bebop era. This is clearly evident in her timing and scat improvisation.
Listen: Cleo Lane in Vocal Jazz, Saturday 13th September 18:00 - 19:00 CET.

What's your favourite X-Rated discovery?
October 1st is X-Rated's birthday, the program's 30th anniversary. The following Sunday, October 5th, this joyous occasion will be celebrated on the radio with a playlist that, for once, hasn't been compiled by Bob, but by the listeners!
That's where you can help: tell Bob about your favorite X-Rated discovery, the record, and/or the moment of discovery by emailing Bob Rusche. Who knows, it might be featured in the festive birthday broadcast on Sunday, October 5th.
