Once in a while Concertzender broadcasts live on location. On Monday 16 October from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. there will be another one of these special broadcasts during Concertzender Live.

From 15 to 20 October, the Van Swieten Society and TivoliVredenburg will organize a Mini Mozart-festival. A great chance for us to bring the second concert of the festival live to your living room.

During our live broadcast you will hear the following works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:Mozart

  • Piano quartet KV 478
  • Kegelstatt Trio KV 498
  • Adagio and Fugue KV 546
  • Clarinet quintet KV 581

De Van Swieten Society line-up during this night:

  • Heleen Hulst - violin
  • Sara DeCorso - violin
  • Bernadette Verhagen - viola
  • Steuart Pincombe - cello
  • Frank van den Brink - clarinet
  • Bart van Oort - fortepiano

The Van Swieten Society says about this festival:

“It is time for Mozart again! For years the Grand Master’s music has sounded in all concert halls, radio shows, on CDs and in living rooms and it seems as if all his music is well known. Nothing is further from the truth. Only a small part of his music is regularly performed and that is why you will hear Mozart's known and less known works during the Mini Mozart Festival.

The festival takes place from 15 to 20 October and is organized by the Van Swieten Society, the Orchestra of the 18th century and Symphonie Atlantique.”

Unknown works

“Part of Mozart's chamber music is popular and often performed. Naturally, we will play lots of that music, but we will combine it with Mozart's unknown works as well. The Van Swieten Society with guest musicians plays a broad variety of chamber music, culminating in a marvellous symphonic programme with many solo concertos.

Of Mozart's solo concertos, a number of piano concertos are often performed, the double concertos only rarely. Some are entirely unknown because they have been rediscovered or completed only recently. Besides the more often performed double concertos 'Ch'io mi scordi di te' for soprano and fortepiano, and the double-piano concerto, The Van Swieten Society also plays the almost never performed 'Sinfonia Concertante' for four wind instruments and the beautiful but hardly known 'Sinfonia Concertante' for violin, viola and cello.”
